Assistant Lecturer, Department of InterpretationUniversity of Nottingham Ningbo
I graduated from Middlebury Institute of International Studies (MIIS) for the MA in Conference Interpretation. Prior to MIIS, I completed a four-year all-English Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies at the University of Nottingham. I’ve studied in English for the last six years and my graduate education training facilitates me to be a fluent English speaker with rich cross-cultural communication experience.
I have almost 5 years’ experience translating a wide variety of documents for clients in the higher education, public sector, and private sector. I have interpreted at several conferences in China. In work, I’m capable of dealing with all kinds of daily tasks. When I was doing an internship at the Shanghai office of Innovation Norway, Consulate General, I was in charge of receiving calls, translating documents, checking the accuracy of files and many other trivial tasks to prepare for the Norwegian king’s visit to China. I outperformed myself each time and was rewarded by my boss after the visit ended. As a detail-oriented person who has rich experience working in an international setting that has high demand for communication skills and language abilities, I believe I will be an ideal interpreter for you.
